East African Welding Summit

East African Welding Summit

(Exact date, time, and place to be determined)

The Tanzanian Governments development agenda as stipulated in the National Five Years Development Plan and Tanzania Development Vision envisions Tanzania with sufficient and competent artisans (welders, electricians, etc.) to support the goal to become a middle-income country which is driven by the industrial sector.

The lack of certified skilled industrial welders presents a meaningful risk to private sector investors when evaluating projects in Tanzania and other developing countries. It appears that many investors are bypassing opportunities because of this risk. However, where there is risk, there is opportunity. Organizations that can successfully address this risk will move to the front of the line. The East African Welding Summit is an opportunity for stakeholders to learn about new initiatives and opportunities to move the region forward to middle-income and provide companies with access to unprecedented growth.

The first annual East African Welding Summit is envisioned as the first of many annual summits and other events whereby the sectors of government, industry, civil society, education, and labor can come together to share information and ideas toward developing sufficient and competent industrial welders and other trades necessary to achieve the overall goals for economic development and industrial project success.

To address these risks and opportunities, Global Faith Partners, a U.S. based NGO dedicated to education and training, has teamed up with the Tanzanian Ministry of Education and the Don Bosco organization. We invite you and your organization to join this movement and attend the first annual East African Welding Summit.
